Poland plans to call out civilians in preparation for a possible war

tThe Polish government plans to boost its military presence by calling up about 200,000 people over the course of 2023 for war training.

To achieve this, the Ministry of Defense will work in two ways. First, 28,580 people who have volunteered and up to 38,000 active reservists will receive two weeks of training.

After that, the authorities will also summon another 130,000 citizens without any experience. In this case, their training would last for one week.

Who is called up to the Polish army?

Head of the Polish National Employment Center, Colonel Miroslav PresHe explained that the final selection of these 130,000 citizens will be determined according to health and age criteria.

In parallel, Poland will add a total of 17,128 new professional soldiers to their ranks by 2023. The overall goal of the country’s strategy is to reach 250,000 soldiers, of which they currently boast 110,000, less than half.

The salary of conscripts is about 1,100 euros per month plus social benefits, while the average salary in the country is 1,186 euros.
